OVERVIEW
The Inside Out Community and Awards are the go-to destination for in-house creative teams to be recognised and rewarded for their work. This online community champions in-house creativity and is a vital resource for leaders. I was approached to create a new visual identity that would house the various sub-brands and initiatives of founder Emma Sexton and Sarah Halfpenny.
I developed a brand topline concept called ‘hidden treasures’ based around the idea of revealing in-house gems that are so often overlooked. I used an origami shape as the vehicle for this concept with the idea of an unassuming and plain exterior revealing vibrancy within the folds. The typography combines a delicate serif to convey knowledge and experience with a contrasting sans serif for a modern design edge. The colour palette is rich and eclectic, featuring pops of neon against a cool neutral base. The lock-up design nods to the folded and enclosed state, with variations for different brand sub-sections. I am developing this concept further as we launch the re-branded Inside Out Awards later this year.
